Nearly 1,000 professionals from more than 60 countries will attend the 36th edition of the INC Congress for a stimulating three-day program to exchange knowledge and ideas in market development, supply chain, consumption, product innovation, food safety, nutrition and research.
Gopi Kallayil, Chief Evangelist, Brand Marketing at Google, and Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Spiritual and Humanitarian leader, will participate in the congress as keynote speakers. This unique event is the only international platform to share and discuss the industry’s most relevant developments and trends. It offers representatives from the international Nut and Dried Fruit industry in-depth information through a series of round tables on walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, macadamias, pine nuts, Brazil nuts, peanuts, pistachios, cashews, macadamias, pecans and dried fruits.
In addition to the technical programs, the Congress will also feature a Scientific Seminar where Prakash Kalbavi as guest speaker will pronounce his conference on “Technological Advances in the cashew industry”, and a Nutrition Research Update on current challenges and key facts concerning food safety and trade and the latest scientific findings related to health and nutrition. Professor Jordi Salas-Salvadó will present the “New Findings on Nuts and Health” while as guest speakers Dr. Richard D. Mattes will pronounce a lecture on “The Role of Nuts and Dried Fruit in Healthful Snacking”, and Dr. V. Mohan will discuss on the benefits of cashew consumption. Besides the leadership sessions, this three-day programme will provide an indispensable opportunity for delegates to network, meet key people in the industry and strengthen business ties.
INC Awards is the premier international benchmark of excellence for the nuts and dried fruit industries and will be presented on Sunday, May 21st, 2017. The major recognition, the Golden Nut Award, will be delivered to Mr. K. Ravindranathan Nair for his indefatigable dedication to the cashew business for more than 40 years and his pivotal role in accelerating the distribution of nuts worldwide.
As for the Award for Excellence in Research, it has been granted to Dr. Richard D. Mattes, who has been an active researcher in the area of nuts and health for over 20 years, and the Award for Excellence in Gastronomy will be presented to Bukhara Restaurant, overseen by Chef JP Singh, for its contribution to the preservation, improvement and dissemination of Indian cuisine worldwide.
Finally, the Innovation Award, whose winner will be decided through a vote among the Congress participants, will also be presented on the same day. INC Awards are aimed at recognizing outstanding leaders and visionaries who have contributed to the excellence of the Nut and Dried Fruit industry.
